The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the provisional answer key for the UGC-NET December 2024 exam on January 31. Now is your time to challenge the answer key. You can do so until February 3, 2025 till 6 pm. To check the provisional answer key, you can login with your registration details on the official website and follow the required steps to download the answer key and check your scores. It is estimated that the cutoff will be higher than the cutoff of the previous June 2024 cycle as the question paper was easy. How to challenge the provisional answer key? 

1. Visit the NTA website: https://ugcnet.nta.ac.in.
2. Click “Challenges regarding answer key.”
3. Login to your dashboard via using your application number, date of birth, and the security pin as displayed on your screen. 
4. Click on “view answer sheet” for marked responses and to challenge answer key, click the challenge button.
5. You can see the question IDs in sequence. Just refer to the question ID.
6. The ID next to the question under the column “Correct Options” stands for the correct answer as per the NTA. Here, you must remember that you cannot challenge the dropped question. 
7. If you want to challenge the option, you can just do so by selecting one or more option IDs. 
8. After that, you need to upload supporting documents for proof. 
9. After choosing your desired option, scroll down and click on ‘submit and review claims.’
10. If you wish to modify any of your claims, then click on “Modify Claims” or else click on ‘Final Submit’. 
11. After saving the claims, you can see all your challenges. 
12. For each claim, you need to pay Rs. 200. So, pay the fee. After the payment, your claims will be saved successfully. You can pay the requisite amount via debit card/credit card/Net banking/UPI.

The challenges will only be accepted through online mode. Do not use any other mode. The challenges will be evaluated by subject experts. If your challenges are found correct, the answer key will be revised in the final answer key. Based on the revised final answer key, the results will be declared.
