Overall difficulty level
The Gujarat SET exam is scheduled to assess your eligibility to be appointed as Assistant Professor in Gujarat. The GSET exam pattern consists of two parts: Paper 1 and Paper 2.
Paper I contains 50 compulsory questions carrying two marks each. These questions will evaluate the general aptitude for the GSET exam and assess the research/teaching aptitude. Further, it will focus on testing reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness.
In Paper II, you will be answering 100 objective type questions each carrying two marks in English Literature. The questions in both the papers will be in English and Gujarati.
You will have to mark the right answers for questions of Paper-I and Paper-II on the OMR sheet. There is no negative marking for wrong answers.
You need to sit for both the papers otherwise, you will be disqualified. You will be only allowed to sit for Paper II if you sit for Paper I.
Timings for GSET exam 2024
The GSET exam 2024 will be of three hours. The Paper I will be for an hour from 9:30 am to 10:30 am while Paper II will take place for two hours from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.
The GSET exam 2024 paper can be categorized as moderate, with a mix of straightforward questions and a few tricky ones. While the majority of candidates found the paper manageable, certain sections required extra thought and careful reading.
GSET Paper 1 Analysis
The GSET Paper 1 consists of 11 sections including, teaching aptitude, research aptitude, comprehension, logical reasoning, data interpretation, mathematics, communication, environment, people, and development, higher education, and information technology.
- Questions on Teaching Aptitude and Research Aptitude were relatively simple, testing fundamental concepts.
- The Logical Reasoning section featured a few tricky questions involving patterns and sequences, challenging your analytical skills.
- Topics like ICT and Higher Education were straightforward, sticking to common GSET exam syllabus
- Data Interpretation was scoring but required attention to detail due to closely related options.
GSET Paper 2 Analysis
The GSET Paper 2 covered the complete GSET syllabus paper 2 emphasizing on English literature. Some of the questions were really tough while some of the questions were quite direct. So, it was a moderately designed paper.
The GSET Paper 2 included direct questions from prominent authors, works, and literary theories. However, some questions on lesser-known authors and obscure references were tricky.
Expected Cut-Off
Given the moderate level of difficulty, the expected cut-off for GSET 2024 is likely to be in line with previous years or slightly higher. If you prepared for the GSET exam consistently, you should feel confident about their chances.
