Eligibility Criteria for Maharashtra SET

Eligibility conditions for the Maharashtra SET (State Eligibility Test) follow UGC guidelines, with relaxation based on the state’s reservation policies. Key details include:

Basic Eligibility

1. Master’s Degree:
   • You must hold a Master’s Degree recognized by the UGC in a relevant SET subject.
   • For those with postgraduate diplomas/certificates from Indian or foreign institutions, equivalence with a recognized Indian Master’s degree should be confirmed via the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) website (aiu.ac.in).
2. Minimum Marks:
   • General category candidates need at least 55% marks (no rounding off).
   • Reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC, SEBC, SBC, DT(A), NT(B/C/D), PwD, Transgender, Orphans) require 50% marks.
   • Reserved category candidates must provide valid certificates issued by the Maharashtra or Goa government.
3. Course Progression:
   • If you are in the first year of a two-year Master’s course or the first two semesters of a four-semester course, you are not eligible.
   • If you are in your final year or awaiting results, you may apply provisionally but must secure the required marks within two years of the SET result.

Special Considerations

1. Reservation Benefits:
   • If you are from Maharashtra or Goa, you can avail of state reservation benefits.
   • If you are a reserved candidate from other states, you should apply under the General category.
2. Subjects:
   • You must appear for SET in the subject of your post-graduation.
   • If a subject is not listed, they may select a related subject.
3. Prior Qualification:
   • If you have already qualified in a subject, you cannot reappear for the same.
4. Age Limit:
   • There is no upper age limit for applying.
5. Exclusions:
   • Candidates with an M.Sc. (by Research/PPPR) are not eligible.

Application and Verification

1. Self-Verification:
   • No documents or certificates are required during application. However, checking your eligibility is your responsibility. If found ineligible at any stage, your candidature will be cancelled.
2. E-Certificate:
   • You will receive an e-certificate after qualifying for the MH SET, and results can be verified online by employers.

Reservation Policy

1. State Reservation:
   • SC (13%), ST (7%), OBC (19%), SEBC (10%), EWS (10%), SBC (2%), DT(A)/VJ (3%), NT(B) (2.5%), NT(C) (3.5%), NT(D) (2%), and General/Unreserved (28%).
2. Horizontal Reservations:
   • 1% for Orphans and 5% for persons with disabilities, as per Maharashtra GR and UGC guidelines.

Important Notes Related to Exam Fees

1. PwD Category:
   • Only candidates with a disability of 40% or moreare eligible for benefits under the PwD category.
2. Other State Candidates:
   • Reserved category candidates from states other than Maharashtra and Goa will be treated as Open/General category, as per the reservation policy of these states.
3. Payment Methods:
   • Fees must be paid via Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking.
4. Non-Refundable:
   • Examination fees, once paid, are non-refundableunder any circumstances.

How to Apply for MH SET 2025 Exam?

Application Process

1. Online Application:
   • You must apply online through the official SET website:
     https://setexam.unipune.ac.in
2. Required Document Number:
   • While filling the online application form, you need to provide the numberof any one of the following identity documents:
     • PAN Card
     • Aadhaar Card
     • Voter ID
     • Passport
     • Ration Card
     • Bank Account
     • Any other government-issued identity proof

3. Scanned Images:
   • Passport Size Photograph: JPG/JPEG format, maximum size 50 KB
   • Signature: JPG/JPEG format, maximum size 30 KB

Procedure for Application Submission

1. Preliminary Steps:
   • Review important details such as eligibility criteria and dates before starting the application process.
2. User Registration:
   • Click on Apply Nowon the homepage.
   • Complete the User Registration Formwith a valid email ID and password.
   • Your registered email IDwill serve as your username.
3. Steps to Fill the Application Form:

Step 1: Fill Main Application Form

• Log in using your registered username and password.
• Click on Step 1: Fill Main Application Formand enter all details carefully.
• Verify the information before clicking Submit.
• Preview your application to ensure accuracy.
• A unique Application Number will be generated after successful submission.

Step 2: Upload Scanned Images

• Upload your passport-size photo (Max: 50 KB) and signature (Max: 30 KB) in JPG/JPEG format.
• Confirm the uploaded images before proceeding.

Step 3: Payment and Print Application Form

• Pay the examination fee via Credit/Debit Cardor Net Banking.
• Upon successful payment, download the Online Application Form(2 pages):

  • Page 2: Online payment transaction details

4. Print the Application Form:
   • Ensure you print both pages of the application form.
5. Submission:
   • Do not send the printed application form to any Coordinating Centre or the SET Department at Savitribai Phule Pune University.
