    MPPSC English Literature Syllabus in Details

    The MPPSC exam consists of three stages:

    1. Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)
    2. Main Examination (Descriptive)
    3. Interview (Personality Test)

    The preliminary exam has two papers, both objective type (multiple choice questions), and is meant to screen candidates for the mains.

    1. Paper 1: General Studies (GS)
      • History: Indian history and national movements, specifically focusing on Madhya Pradesh’s historical movements.
      • Geography: Geography of India and Madhya Pradesh, including physical, social, and economic geography.
      • Constitution and Polity: Indian Constitution, political system, Panchayati Raj, social systems, and public policy.
      • Economy: Indian economy, economic planning, poverty alleviation, and public finance.
      • Environment: General issues on environmental ecology, biodiversity, and climate change.
      • Science & Technology: General awareness of current scientific advancements.
      • Current Affairs: National and international events with an emphasis on Madhya Pradesh.
    2. Paper 2: General Aptitude Test (CSAT)
      • Comprehension
      • Logical Reasoning and Analytical Ability
      • Decision Making and Problem-Solving
      • General Mental Ability
      • Basic Numeracy: Data interpretation, charts, and graphs.
      • Interpersonal Skills, Communication Skills

    The mains consist of six papers:

    1. General Studies 1: Focuses on history, culture, and geography, with a special emphasis on Madhya Pradesh.
    2. General Studies 2: Constitution, polity, governance, and international relations, including state-specific policies.
    3. General Studies 3: Technology, economic development, biodiversity, security, disaster management, and agricultural advancements in MP.
    4. General Studies 4: Ethics, integrity, and aptitude.
    5. Hindi Language: Knowledge of Hindi and proficiency in essay writing.
    6. Essay Writing: Three essays related to national, international, and MP state topics.

    The final stage is the interview, which tests the candidate's personality, general knowledge, and understanding of current issues, particularly related to Madhya Pradesh.

    This structure ensures that candidates are tested comprehensively on their knowledge, aptitude, and awareness, both nationally and locally.
